NixiHost owns 100% of its server hardware. Every server is purchased directly from the manufacturer, built and configured by our own technicians, and run from secure, 24/7-access datacenters in Texas. Owning the hardware means we control every layer of the platform, from the drives your data sits on to the security stack protecting it, and this page explains exactly what that platform is.

The Hardware

Every NixiHost server is built on dual Intel Xeon Gold processors with 256GB of ECC registered RAM, server-grade SSDs in a redundant, high-speed RAID array, and a 10Gbps network connection. ECC memory catches and corrects data corruption before it reaches your files; RAID means a drive failure doesn't take your site or your email offline; and 10Gbps networking means the server's connection is never the bottleneck, even under heavy traffic.

We don't put customers on a new server the day it's racked. Every machine first runs a battery of hardware integrity tests, with each component pushed to its maximum load, to prove it will survive years of production traffic before it hosts a single site. Chances are your gaming rig doesn't see half the action our servers do before we even let them start work.

The Network

NixiHost operates its own network as an independent autonomous system, AS46505, rather than renting connectivity through someone else's infrastructure. Traffic to and from your site moves across multiple redundant fiber uplinks on enterprise Juniper routing and switching hardware, the same equipment tier that powers major carriers and exchanges. Running our own ASN means we control our routing, our peering, and our response when something on the internet misbehaves: if a route degrades, we fix it ourselves in minutes instead of opening a ticket with an upstream provider and waiting.

The Security Stack

Imunify360 on every server. Real-time malware scanning, a web application firewall, intrusion prevention, and automated cleanup protect every account on the platform at no additional cost.

CloudLinux account isolation. Every hosting account runs in its own isolated environment with enforced CPU and memory limits, so a compromised or overloaded account cannot affect its neighbors.

Daily backups with JetBackup. Files, databases, and email are backed up automatically every day, with copies stored securely off-site and self-service restores available through cPanel.

Free SSL everywhere. Every domain on the platform is automatically issued a Let's Encrypt SSL certificate, renewed without customer action.

Patched and monitored by NixiHost. Our Texas-based team applies security patches and server updates proactively and monitors hardware around the clock. Customers never carry responsibility for server-level security.

Physical security. Servers live in 24/7 secured-access datacenter facilities with redundant power and redundant network connections from multiple fiber providers.

Buying servers directly from manufacturers and running them ourselves costs more effort than renting someone else's cloud, and we do it anyway. Ownership means we choose every component, test every machine, and never wait on a third party when something needs attention. The long-term vendor relationships we've built since 2007 also keep our hardware and bandwidth costs low, and those savings are why NixiHost plans cost what they do.
